The French Bulldog is a breed of domestic dog, bred to be companion dogs. The breed is the result of a cross between Toy Bulldogs imported from England and local ratters in Paris, France, in the 1800s. They are stocky, compact dogs with a friendly, mild-mannered temperament.
Personality
This is a smart, loving dog who wants and needs to spend lots of time with his family. A fun-loving dog, the French Bulldog takes well to training when it's done in a good manner with lots of treat's rewards. A Fluffy Frenchie is a long-haired, fluffy & furry purebred French Bulldog that gets its fluffiness from an extremely rare mutation in the fibroblast growth factor 5 (FGF5) gene.
The look isn’t achieved by crossing a French Bulldog with another, fluffier dog. Instead, it is caused by a rare gene introduced into the breed at some point in the past. The gene is recessive, meaning both parents must possess and pass on the gene to their offspring to produce a Fluffy Frenchie.
Big Rope French Bulldogs have been bred with a specific focus on developing prominent skin folds that resemble a large rope like structure along the top of their nose. In addition to this distinctive feature, they often possess additional prominent facial skin folds.
These unique characteristics are highly valued by breeders who specialize in Big Rope French Bulldogs, with a particular emphasis on dogs that have the largest and most pronounced ropes.

When we talk about French bulldog colors, the good news is they come both in rare and regular colors. So, it’s only up to you which one to choose.
When we talk about French bulldog colors through history, we could notice that pied, and brindle Frenchies were one of the oldest colors present in this breed. Since these dogs were crossed with other mini and toy dogs, they later became even more colorful. Therefore, today it’s not surprising to see a merle, blue, lilac, black, cream, and other rare-colored Frenchies. Another Frenchie fact is that the quondam French Bulldog had a longer muzzle and tail. However, as the cruel trend of bull-baiting was popular in that period, irresponsible breeders wanted to get shorter muzzle and stronger body. French bulldog ears could also be seen in 2 shapes- rose and bat-shaped ears.
